  1. I discovered this blog a few weeks ago and have since fallen in love with it. Keep up the awesome updates, as an architecture student at Georgia Tech this stuff is invaluable !

  3. I think that architecturally this thing is amazing. The way the light comes in is just spectacular. However as a meditative space I’m curious to wheter it’s affective. I think the architecture might be too beautiful, distracting, and new to create a sense of place. Although I’m sure you’d get used to it after awhile and wouldn’t think it was really all that different…
    Thanks for the post!

  4. Well, I’m not sure that this ninja litteraly means meditation in the ‘focus on the breath and attain enlightenment’ way. I mean, chick in the picture is drinking a glass of wine – I think its just meant as a simple, contemplative space.

That being said – I don’t see how beauty would be distracting while meditating – especially something beautiful for its simplicity and use of light. You seen old Hindu and Buddhist temples? Those things are covered in all sorts of busy-ness [they're wicked ill, don't get me wrong - I would just imagine they'd be distracting].

  5. maybe I’m just not used to experiencing good architecture. and when I do experience it, I can’t focus on anything else. Good architecture probably wouldn’t affect the ordinary person in the same way.
