Pascal Arquitectos: Sheraton Centro Historico

Alright, so I didn’t find that much information on it, but it looked pretty sick – so I decided to throw it up here anyways. This is the Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel & Convention Center, in Mexico City [2003], once again by Pascal Arquitectos. The first new major construction since the 1985 earthquakes, the Sheraton was built on the site of the Hotel del Prado, an iconic hotel in Mexico City. From Pascal Arquitectos:

This is the first built effort Mexico’s Centro Historico since 1985 earthquakes. Its modern design integrates the latest technologies with the possibility to adapt to the subsequent ones, and at the same time it intentionally breaks up with the context, giving space to new mis-en-scenes, and at the same time creating added real estat value. A rebirth of the commercial, cultural and social activities of Mexico in the fifties, a time when hotels were considered a must meeting point, such as it was with the Hotel Del Prado.

  2. Do you have any pictures of the old Del Prado Hotle. And if so, can I get copies? They will be used for my scrapbook on my travels in Mexico in 1949.
