Urban Curators : Providence
This is a siiick project: Urban Curators. Started in Providence by RISD students, The Urban Curators Project’s goal is to
engage the public in the celebration of the decaying urban environment, recog- nizing its inherent aesthetic qualities as well as the important role that it plays within our cultural habitat. The project achieves its goal by elevating common, overlooked objects and spaces within the city of Providence, Rhode Island to the level of high art [from urbancurators.com].
And thats basically it. They’ve been hanging frames all over Providence, drawing attention to the beauty in what is overlooked by the city everyday. Interested in getting involved? Well if you’re in Providence it may be too late, as our ninjas over at RISD seem to have everything under control – but other cities need love too. Maybe if we here at MNP stop being so lazy you’ll get some photos from our shogunate – we’ll see.
Any of the MNP massive who have their own photos – whether from the project in Providence or from your own city – hit us with some photos!

Many of you may have seen this in Metropolis this month [I did about a week ago] – but I had forgotten all about it before I saw this post over at Inhabitat.
